A Sydney man was charged with attempted murder after two women were attacked with a samurai sword in an attack, AAP reports.
In the early hours of Monday, emergency services were called to the west inner Annandale home after reports that two women had been injured.
NSW police were told that a man allegedly hit a 27-year-old woman in the head before a 29-year-old woman intervened and was hit with the gun.
The man escaped on foot, and the women went to another house on the same street for help. They were taken to hospital and treated for their injuries, while police confiscated a number of items, including a samurai sword.
Police later arrested a 44-year-old man on Macquarie Street who suffered a shoulder injury and was taken to hospital under police protection. Since then, he has been charged with assault and harm with intent to murder and trample.
He was officially denied bail and will appear in the local Newtown court today.
