Gab gaining 10,000 users per hour, CEO claims, after Trump’s permanent Twitter suspension
Gab, a more conservative alternative social media platform to Twitter, claimed on Saturday that it was gaining 10,000 users per hour following the permanent suspension of President Trump’s account by Twitter.
Trump was also barred from posting on Facebook and Instagram – at least until the end of his term.
“The traffic keeps growing, more servers on the way today,” Gab CEO Andrew Torba wrote on the site on Saturday.
Trump and several prominent supporters like General Michael Flynn and Attormey Sidney Powell were also banned from Twitter following the deadly riot on the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday.

Torba tweeted on Saturday night, the site had 18 million hits on Saturday and 500,000 new users.
Gab, which was launched a few years ago, calls itself a “social network that defends freedom of expression, individual freedom and the new free flow of information online.”

Conservatives have long complained that big tech companies are censoring their pro-liberal views, a sentiment that was accelerated by Trump’s suspension.
“Freedom of expression is under attack! Censorship is happening like never before! Don’t let them shut us up, ”Donald Trump Jr. tweeted on Saturday.
Google and Apple also suspended Talking from their app stores on Saturday.
Following his ban, Trump briefly used the official @Potus account to accuse Twitter of “banning free speech” and announced that he “is negotiating with various other sites, and will make a big announcement soon, while that we are also looking at development possibilities. our own platform in the near future. We will not be SILENT! ”
Twitter quickly deleted the tweets from the @Potus account, citing his Politics on banned users trying to bypass it through other accounts.
