HBO meets Marvel in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
The stars of several recent prestigious dramas on HBO will be featured in the next “Ant-Man” film. Jonathan Majors, a leading actor on “Lovecraft Country”, will appear as the villain in the film, playing the classic Marvel character Kang the Conqueror. Kathryn Newton, who played a rebellious teenager against Reese Witherspoon in Big Little Lies, will play Cassie Lang, who comic book fans know will later become the superhero Stature.
Warwick Davis will repeat his role as Willow
Warwick Davis will appear as the title character in a sequel to the 1988 cult classic “Willow” on Disney +, which will air in 2022.
The original film, conceived by George Lucas and directed by Ron Howard, featured a farmer and aspiring sorceress, Willow Ufgood, tasked with helping an infant – the future Empress of the Empire – fulfill her destiny. Val Kilmer helps them. The series will take place years after the events of the film.
Christian Bale is moving from Dark Knight to God Butcher
Christian Bale, who donned superhero tights for three Batman films, has officially joined the cast of Thor: Love and Thunder, the fourth installment in the Thor series and the second from director Taika Waititi. Mr. Bale will play Gorr the God Butcher, a creature who wants to kill all gods. Simple stuff, really. The film is scheduled to be released on May 6, 2022.
Hailee Steinfeld could be the next Hawkeye
Hailee Steinfeld, who last appeared as Gwen Stacy on Spider-Man: Enter the Spider-Verse, will appear alongside Jeremy Renner on Marvel’s Hawkeye series, which will air next year on Disney +. She plays Kate Bishop, who takes the name Hawkeye for herself in the comics.
